A growing problem in Corrections is the increasing number of mentally ill people who are being arrested because society does not know what to do with them. So they are housed in our jails and prisons at the taxpayer’s expense and until a few years ago, basically forgotten.

• From the two articles, choose one to write a one paper addressing the issues of the mentally ill in the correctional system
• Include in your paper one or two suggestions on how you would handle this situation. (Mental Health Court)
