Once an inmate is brought to jail or sentenced to prison, they need something to keep them busy. When they get bored, that is when they start getting into trouble and bad things happen. At some point, most inmates are given a release date. Once released, they will need help getting a job. That is why the education system or school plays such an important role. Getting a GED allows them a step up in life once they are released.
