Cognitive deficits have a huge role when it comes to schizophrenia. Barch stated, " The cognitive deficits that are present in schizophrenia are widespread and can include problems with retrieving information and maintaining information. There are other tasks it affects such as tasks that require one to control or regulate one's behavior" (Barch, 2023). Just as the effects of what one may say to someone may bring about episodes of schizophrenia when the cognitive is not functioning correctly and lacking what it may need schizophrenia can bring other deficits to the person's brain.
