Objective: Learn the key issues with sexual battery and intimate partner violence crime victims.

Unfortunately, these two groups of victims are among those that do not always report their attacks to law enforcement. These victims have a special set of issues and circumstances that make their attack that much more serious. They often feel embarrassed or somehow responsible for what has happened to them.

Discuss with your colleagues an overview of either a victim of sexual battery or an intimate partner victim.

  • How is the crime punished?
  • How do these attacks affect the victims?
