Great job. I loved the quote you pulled out that said, "What happens in one place at one time cannot be fully understood without taking into account what is happening in other places at the same time" (Gaddis, 2002, p. 22). I think a simultaneous view of history is vital to understanding it better. Even with the Bible, for example, we can't truly understand what significance certain symbolisms, commands, or actions might truly have in Jesus' story or Paul's letters without having a good grasp on what else was happening around them. Have you ever read something in the Bible or another book where something took on new meaning after learning the historical context?
