This group research project introduces you to historical research through the use of secondary and primary sources. Each team will delve into one topic related to the course materials. The completed project is due at the end of Week 4.

You will complete one milestone this week and then use time over the next two weeks to prepare for the final submission due in Week 4. For an overview of the requirements of the final submission due Week 4, review WK4 Historiography Group Project Final Submission.

Week 2 Requirements:

• Enter your assigned group discussion forum set up by your professor.
• As a group, discuss and select a historiography topic for your project from the following list.
  • Greek and Roman Historians
  • Christian Historiographical Revolution
  • Historiography and the Effects of the Renaissance and Reformation
  • 18th-19th Century Historiography (effects of the Enlightenment)
  • Beginnings of Nationalism and History (18th-19th Centuries)
  • August Comte and Positivist History
  • Economics and History (effect of Smith, Marx, etc.)
  • 20th-21st Century Trends: Social and Cultural history
  • 20th-21st Century Trends: Political and Economic history
  • Specialized History since 1945 (women’s history, Latino history, African-American history, etc.)
• Submit your selected topic with a short rationale for your selection. Include the following:
  • Name the topic selected.
  • Why you chose this topic.
  • A few facts you already know of this topic.
  • Questions you have as you begin your study of this topic.
