The second summary for this class is an annotated bibliography, which is actually a series of summaries. 

An annotated bibliography will demonstrate skills in documenting sources in MLA format, in evaluating the quality of sources, and in summarizing effectively. 

The topic for your annotated biblography will be the topic you select for your second essay. Please review the assignment booklet for details about the topics from which you may choose. 

The annotated bibliography must include: 

• A topic introduction
• An annotated entry for: 

1. A reference book
2. A magazine or newspaper
3. A scholarly or trade journal, if possible
4. A website or other source of your choice

An annotated entry includes an MLA works cited citation for the source in question, a sentence summary of the source, a sentence indicating how the source may be used, and a sentence indicating why the source was selected for use. 

A sample entry on an annotated bibliography may look like this: 

Hendriksen, Ellen. "What is Imposter Syndrome?" The Savvy Psychologist [blog],      Quick and Dirty Tips, 28 July 2021, quickanddirtytips.com/health-      fitness/medical-conditions/what-is-impostor-syndrome. 

Hendriksen identifies imposter syndrome as "a pervasive feeling of... fraudulence, despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary." She states there are three types and that it can be easily overcome. The source explains how the syndrome happens and offers strategies to reduce the feeling.
