Corrections are the most significant part of state budgets.  Societies have struggled with these types of issues and how best to address issues of corrections.  Social goals of community corrections vs incarceration must be examined to provide guidance on various programs that could be implemented to address those concerns.  The questions of punishment versus rehabilitation will have to be examined to provide understanding of what the goal for addressing criminal behavior is.  These are highly debated issues for which criminal justice practitioners must prepare.
