Prison corruption is considered one of the greatest threats to the criminal justice system.  Corrupt prison workers allow criminals to continue with their illegal activities from their prison cells.  While the prison system can be one of the most visible aspects of the criminal justice system it is also one that the public knows very little about.  This allows corruption and continued enterprises to continue without being caught.
