The death penalty discussions continue to have a significance impact on our society today.  Understanding the issue historically and biblically will educate students on how they can view this issue.  The death penalty discussion still wages today and there are many thoughts on how the penalty impact the overall criminal justice system.  Deciding the issue from a biblical perspective will help to understand how best to discuss and support the issue. 
 

• Read the discussion on the various pages linked on the page “Should the Death Penalty be Allowed.” 
  
• Write a 3 page paper covering the following points related to this topic:
• Evaluate the pros and cons to the death penalty (i.e. capital punishment). 
• Analyze the information that you find and draw a conclusion on whether there should or should not be capital punishment.
• Consider how you might persuade another Christian who had an alternative viewpoint from yours.
• Use Scripture present your case on why you support (or do not support) capital punishment.
