In the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (2013) there are nine different mental disorders that are under the anxiety category.  As noted earlier, over 40 million adults (National Institute of Mental Health) struggle with anxiety disorders.  For this paper you will be exploring some of the underlying biological processes that are associated with anxiety. 

• Prepare a 3 page paper that considers the following:
  • Identify what specific changes in the brain are associated with symptoms of anxiety.
  • Discuss the role that both genetics and the environment play in the development of anxiety disorder.
  • Summarize the most common treatment methods for anxiety disorders.
    
• Use at least two peer-reviewed academic sources to support your points in this paper.
