Your final writing assignment in our course is to write a two to three-page

essay in which you address the following topic:

Philosophical ethics examines what is good or bad, right or wrong in human life.
It considers moral judgments, moral decisions, moral values and the general
question of how people should live their lives. Your assignment is to select one
idea or insight about morality from the readings we have done this semester
(Aristotle, Kant, Appiah, Ruddick, Cordova, Hester) that you find to be
particularly valuable and important, and explain what that idea or insight is,
and state what is important about it. This is an opportunity for you to reflect
back on what we have been reading and discussing during the semester and focus on
one idea that is particularly meaningful to you, and to present and explore that
idea.
