Consider this as you reflect on the scripture above: The Appeals process is clearly our justice system’s method of a second chance for some defendants in case the lower courts got it wrong. Does the whole premise and teachings of the Bible not say the same thing? Don’t we all have a second chance if we believe in Christ and “turn from our wicked ways?” Are there other ways the criminal justice system provides second chances?
