Objective: Articulate current responsibilities and services provided by case managers through the lens of a Biblical worldview.

Instructions Case management is not for everyone – and that’s okay. Case management is a sector of social work, and it also falls under the larger umbrella of the human services profession. As you explored in this week’s discussion, there are many different careers in human services, and not all these jobs involve a role in case management. However, many of these positions do contain a case management function. If you do not have plans to be a case manager, you may still be collaborating with case management services and need to know a basic understanding of their role working with clients and other constituents.

• Watch Life as a case manager
• Write a 2 page paper describing your thoughts and feelings about your role as a possible case manager.
• Ensure the following points are addressed:
  • In your own words, share your personal definition of case management as well as a scripture that you feel describes the multi-faceted roles of case management.
  • Describe your takeaways from this week’s reading and viewing materials regarding the many roles of case managers.
  • Explain if any previous assumptions have been challenged by this week’s reading and viewing materials.
  • Consider whether case management is a good fit for your personality, career goals, and home life. Be honest and transparent – just because you are taking a class about case management does not mean that a case management role should be in your future.
  • In the concluding paragraph, share one scripture that speaks into your career path.
