This assignment will enable students to form a better understanding of how leadership and management are similar as well as how they are different. Understanding the differences and similarities between the two will give the student an appreciation for where leadership falls short in carrying out long term objectives and goals, and where management falls short in doing the same. Generally, leaders see the big picture better than mid-level managers and employees, but if they don’t communicate the vision of the big picture in a way that makes sense in the context of the duties and tasks of mid-level management and employees, the vision will fail and resistance will result.
