christian worldview paper
bjective: Discuss how a worldview, specifically a Christian worldview, relates to the chemical dependency counseling field.
Conscious or not, we all have a worldview: those internal beliefs about how we view life, the world around us, and particularly God. These views lead us to make certain choices and behave in certain ways. John Hay and David Webb state that for the Christian, “it is God’s truth as He reveals it to us in His Word, the Bible that provides us with the perfect pair of belief glasses for rightly viewing, understanding, and living in the world” (Hay & Webb, 2009). We all need to understand what our worldview is and, as Christians, whether or not we are basing that worldview upon Scripture. As Proverbs 23:7 says, “For as a man thinks within himself, so he is.”
