The word “justice” is a complicated term and can mean different things in different contexts. For this course, the task is to understand what it means within the context of the criminal justice system. The more clearly you define it specifically to the criminal justice system the more likely you are to retain the concepts learned within the course and how they interact with each other. Also note that the term “justice” can mean different things depending on your role within the criminal justice system. One party may think justice is completely different than another, all within the same case.
