managed care discussion 200 words
Objective 3: Identify aspects of public policy and organizational structure that may interfere with providing effective and ethical client care.
Defining who the client is that we are serving is not necessarily an easy endeavor. When providing services within a managed care delivery model, the professional is serving two clients, the recipient of the services, and the agency providing services. Consider the fact that the goals of these two parties may not necessarily align, which creates a need for the human service worker to be an active agent of conflict resolution. Managed care is just one of many examples in which dual clients may be involved, and the professional needs to balance the needs of both parties. This balancing act can create ethical dilemmas that need to be acknowledged and addressed.
