Independent and Dependent Variables

In order to conduct experiments, we need clear independent variables (to manipulate) and dependent variables to measure.

For example, I look at whether ovarian hormones, such as estrogen and progesterone, will affect endorphin release in response to pain.

Estrogen and progesterone are what I am manipulating (IV), endorphin release (DV) is what I measure.

Now, come up with an independent and dependent variable that you would like to use.
