Public Influence Essay US Government
Take one of the 5 chapters on this (public influence) in Kernell textbook. Do you believe that this specific factor is growing in influence? Diminishing? Whichever way that arrow is moving, argue that this either is or is not a problem for our government. 500 words
lso here is more information about the essay.
The five chapters are 10-14. Pick one. So, for example, you could argue that Interest Groups are growing in influence (specify the period in which you believe that is true--say, 10 years, 5 years, 40 years--nothing longer than that, nothing shorter than 5) or diminishing in influence. Is this a problem or not for the quality/efficiency/value of our government?
It's 500 words, so choose your words wisely. And you should only rely on the textbook. It is fine to refer to ideas and institutions from other chapters; in fact, recommended. So for example, if you could write an essay arguing that Interest Groups are DIMINISHING in influence because of the polarization between the parties--there's so much gridlock, IGs find it hard to get anything done. Or--they are able to stop anything because of gridlock. Either argument would work. Make sure you support your argument with evidence from the text or lectures.
