An idea for a new business involves electronic re-cycling of computing devices including out dated servers, desk-top computers, laptops, iPads, and cell phones. The services (and products) provided by such a business will include certified data-destruction on existing storage devices, refurbishing out dated computing devices, and then selling them with at least one year of warranty. It is expected that, to begin, at least 500 computing devices should be acquired every month by such a business; this number should keep increasing each moth for the next 2 to 3 years.
Discuss (a) the options to solicit out-dated computing devices; (b) sources from where such devices can be acquired; (c) logistics of collecting and transporting such devices to a geographical area, let's say, Yuma Arizona; and some cost estimates of acquiring, refurbishing and selling.
As is generally done in such business research cases, make reasonable assumptions wherever necessary.
