The question is actually several parts that are not included in this answer and was intended to help the beginning statistician understand hypothesis testing. This is just the answer to the first part of the question and doesn't really explain what is what or why therefore it's just the answer cut and dry. Which is helpful if that is what you are looking for, but for me, I was hoping to see how the steps were done along with the terminology to help me solve future problems like this one on my own. Therefore my problem of not understanding how to work the problem is not resolved and I still don't have the answer for the question. I'm glad it was only fifty cents because otherwise, It would have been a complete waste.
