This article is providing relevant and new statistics about the relationship between law enforcers and EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS available on their reward pack. The authors studied this particular type of employees because of their high exposure to stressful activities and their high risk for the post-traumatic stress syndrome. Official statistics and information are providing little knowledge about how police workers access and benefit from EAP programs. The findings from this article are showing us that 56.4 percent of the police workers reported knowing when and how they can access the EAP programs. One-third percent (33%) declared in anonymous surveys that they will not access the EAP program for domestic violence concerns and 16.2 percent accessed at least one the benefits from such programs. The authors are suggesting that police agencies should carry a more intense effort in order to convince as many employees as possible that the EAP programs exist and they could turn useful in any mental related discomfort situations for policemen.
